| Model Rocket Review : Pyramid (free 13mm version) By Art Applewhite Rockets |
|
This model rocket is available in a 18mm model, or a free downloadable 13mm version. The rocket pattern is in .pdf format.
The whole thing fits on a single piece of card stock, making it very cheap to build.

Parts List
Simply download the pdf file and print it on 110 lb. card stock. Supplies you'll need
are a hobby knife, metal ruler and white or yellow glue.
Construction
|
Print the free rocket pattern on 110 lb. card stock and cut out the parts. There are
only two parts total, so this step takes no time.
Be sure to cut all solid lines, includes those on the motor mount. If you don't cut
the solid lines there, you won't be able to form the small pyramid on top of the motor mount, as directed in the instructions.
| |
Assemble both pieces and insert and glue the motor mount into the pyramid. Let the glue dry and you're ready to head for the launch field.
Finishing
|
You can use different color card stock to give these flying model rockets a different color. Or, you can paint or otherwise color them as you see fit.
A little gold spray paint gives them a different look quickly. Anything that reflects sunlight well should give it that extra touch.

Flight Data
These Art Applewhite creations use Estes A10-PT rocket motors.
One of the funs things about these rockets is that they don't need recovery wadding
and there's no recovery device to fold or roll. Simply insert a motor and igniters
and you're ready.
These free rockets are great little flyers. They tend to go straight up and don't
wander too far from the launch pad. Great for small fields or days where walking
all over to recover your model rockets doesn't sound like fun.
