Model Rocket Review : Micro Maxx Space Fighter & UFO

These fantasy model rockets are called the Space Fighter and UFO. Their galaxy of origin is unknown, which makes is hard to provide much information about their history, current mission or destination.

Regardless of where they may be heading, we managed to capture some for further review and investigation.

A streamer is used as a recovery device on the Space Fighter. The flying saucer doesn't appear to be equipped with recovery technology. At least none our researchers could recognize as such.

As with all plastic Micro Maxx rockets, a display stand for each model is included. They both use the number 1 launch lug position on the launcher.

Space Fighter & UFO

Measurements

The fierce Space fighter stands approximately 4" tall (10 cm). The diameter of the tiny flying saucer is nearly 2 3/4" (6.8 cm). No crew members were found, alien or other.

Flight Data

When launched, the UFO shoots no more than 10-15 feet straight up, flips over and falls down. This exact behavior was observed over multiple launches. Perhaps our technology is too primitive to produce a high-altitude flight.

Due to the different shape of this Micro Maxx model rocket, it's still fun to watch. As it doesn't go very high, there's no need to worry about it leaving our world for the galaxy it calls home.

Keep an eye on the Space Fighter's nose when preparing for launch. The nose seems to want to pop off. Make sure it stays on place, to prevent the streamer from deploying too early.

This model rocket flies OK. Straight up for a while, then it gets more wobbly. It appears that the motor mount may be set differently on this model rocket. It was harder to ignite the motor than for other Micro Maxx model rockets.

Both model rockets have been flown several times and both are free of any damage.
